Body Contouring in Istanbul
Body contouring covers several procedures, from liposuction to skin-tightening lifts. I help you understand which options may fit your goals, prepare for a preliminary review, and coordinate your visit.
Treatments I Can Help You Explore
Each option needs an individual assessment by a licensed surgeon.
Liposuction and Shaping
- Liposuction — removes localized fat deposits from specific areas.
- Vaser liposuction — ultrasound-assisted liposuction for body contouring.
- Brazilian butt lift (BBL) — reshapes the buttocks using your own fat.
Lifts and Tightening
- Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) — removes excess abdominal skin and can tighten the muscles.
- Arm lift and thigh lift — address loose skin on the arms or thighs.
- Gynecomastia surgery — reduces enlarged male breast tissue.
Good to Know
Liposuction is not a weight-loss method. It is generally considered for people at or near their ideal weight who have stubborn fat in specific areas, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, arms, back, or under the chin. A tummy tuck removes loose skin and fat and can repair separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti), which is common after pregnancy or major weight loss. Procedures are sometimes combined when your surgeon finds it suitable.
Is Body Contouring Right for You?
Body contouring shapes the body; it is not a way to lose weight. Surgeons usually look for the following before recommending a procedure:
Usually a Good Starting Point
- A stable weight for several months
- Stubborn fat or loose skin in specific areas
- Good general health and realistic expectations
- Finished with major weight loss or pregnancies, for a tummy tuck
Worth Discussing First
- Ongoing weight changes or plans for significant weight loss
- Smoking, diabetes, or blood-clotting problems
- Previous abdominal surgery or scars
- Wishing to treat several areas in one session
Preparing for Your Preliminary Review
The more complete your first message is, the more useful the surgeon’s preliminary opinion can be. You decide what to share, and everything is handled confidentially.
- Photos of the area from the front, both sides, and the back, in good light and plain underwear
- Your height and current weight, and whether your weight has been stable
- For a tummy tuck: pregnancies, previous C-sections, or other abdominal surgery
- Your general health, any long-term conditions, and medicines or supplements you take
- Previous operations, especially in the same area
- Whether you smoke or vape, since smoking slows healing and many surgeons ask you to stop before and after surgery
- Your preferred travel dates, so planning can start early

Travel & recovery
Planning Your Trip
General guide before flying: 5–7 days after liposuction, 7–10 days after a tummy tuck
- Your surgeon decides how long you should stay in Istanbul after the procedure. I plan the trip around that advice, not the other way around.
- UK health guidance advises avoiding flights for 5 to 7 days after liposuction and 7 to 10 days after a tummy tuck, because surgery and long flights together raise the risk of blood clots.
- Bring loose, comfortable clothing for your return trip; you may be wearing a compression garment.
- A treatment trip is not a holiday. Expect to rest, avoid alcohol, strong sun, swimming, and long sightseeing days while you recover.
- Ask before you book: where follow-up appointments take place, what happens if a complication occurs, and how aftercare is handled once you are home.
- Standard travel insurance usually does not cover complications from planned surgery. Check what the clinic and your own policy cover.

How I Help
Three clear steps, from your first message to follow-up.

1 — Share Your Goals
Tell me which treatment you are considering and, if you wish, share photos or medical reports.

2 — Preliminary Review
A licensed surgeon reviews your information and shares a preliminary opinion. This is not a diagnosis; the final plan follows an in-person examination.

3 — Plan, Travel, Follow-Up
If you decide to go ahead, I help organize appointments, share practical guidance on transfers and accommodation, and stay in touch after you return home.
More Body Contouring Questions
Are liposuction results permanent?
Results are generally long-lasting as long as you maintain a stable, healthy weight. Significant weight gain can change your body shape again.
Will I need to wear a compression garment?
Usually, yes. A compression garment helps reduce swelling and bruising and is typically worn for several weeks after surgery, as your surgeon advises.
Can liposuction be combined with a tummy tuck?
Sometimes. Procedures such as liposuction and a tummy tuck may be planned together when your surgeon finds it suitable for your health and goals.
Is liposuction a way to lose weight?
No. Liposuction removes fat from specific areas to improve shape. It is generally considered for people at or near a stable, healthy weight; weight-loss surgery is a different treatment.
How long should I plan to stay in Istanbul?
Your surgeon sets this after reviewing your case. As a general reference, NHS guidance advises avoiding flights for 5 to 7 days after liposuction and 7 to 10 days after a tummy tuck.
Important
Body contouring procedures are medical decisions. Suitability, the final plan, and recovery are determined by the treating surgeon after an in-person examination. medtour.ist coordinates and guides; it does not provide medical treatment, and no result is guaranteed.
